Your first line of defence against overflow

Gutters are the first line of defence against water overflowing your roof’s perimeter and finding a path into your walls and foundations. Old, leaking, undersized or incorrectly pitched gutters are a genuine risk in Queensland’s high-intensity rainfall events. Innovare Roofing installs new gutters across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and SEQ.

All gutter systems are designed and installed in accordance with AS 3500.3 (stormwater drainage) requirements, with appropriate cross-sections and outlet sizing to handle the design rainfall intensity for the relevant storm event.

Profiles & Systems

Residential profiles to commercial box gutters

Quad Gutter

The standard residential profile, in 100 mm and 125 mm — suitable for most standard-pitch roofs with typical catchment areas.

Half-Round Gutter

A traditional profile popular on heritage homes — a smooth-flowing section that performs well in high-debris environments.

Fascia (Squareline)

A concealed fascia gutter integrating with the roof fascia profile — a contemporary look, in the full Colorbond range.

Box Gutters

Large flat-bottomed gutters built into the roof structure, fabricated in Colorbond and aluminium with correct falls, outlets and overflow detailing.

Downpipes

Corrugated round and rectangular downpipes in Colorbond, compatible with most gutter profiles and well suited to heritage restorations.

Overflow Solutions

Oversized primary outlets, scupper overflows at fascia level and controlled discharge points to handle 100 mm/hr storm events.

Engineered for SEQ Rainfall

Sized for the storm, not the average

Queensland’s tropical rainfall — 100 mm/hr and above during a severe storm — can overwhelm gutters sized for average intensity. We design accordingly.

  • AS 3500.3 compliant cross-sections and outlet sizing.
  • Catchment calculation based on your roof area and local storm intensity.
  • 125 mm recommended for most SEQ residential roofs — slightly oversized for the climate.
  • Box gutter detailing — falls, membrane lapping and overflow compliance.
  • Coastal specification — corrosion protection or aluminium for exposed coastal sites.
  • Coordinated with re-roof — installed with the roof for a single warranty.
Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

For most standard residential roofs in SEQ, 125 mm quad or fascia gutter is recommended — slightly oversized for standard conditions, but important given Queensland’s high-intensity storm rainfall. We calculate sizing based on your roof catchment area and local storm intensity data.

Colorbond steel with appropriate coastal-grade specification. In highly exposed coastal locations, we specify appropriate corrosion protection and may recommend aluminium gutters for maximum longevity against salt air.

Properly installed Colorbond steel gutters in a standard residential environment will last 20–30 years or more. Galvanised gutters in coastal areas may deteriorate faster. If yours are leaking at joints, sagging or perforating with rust, replacement is more economical than ongoing repairs.

Yes — in fact we recommend it. Replacing gutters at the same time as the roof avoids re-disturbing the new roofing later and gives you a complete, coordinated system with a single installation warranty.
