Mould Removal & Remediation

Professional Mould Removal & Remediation

Professional mould testing, containment, removal and remediation for residential and commercial properties across Brisbane, Gold Coast and SEQ. Our humid subtropical climate creates ideal conditions for mould — particularly in older homes and after flood or storm damage.

Why it matters

Mould is more than a cosmetic problem

Significant mould growth — especially black mould (Stachybotrys) and Cladosporium species — can cause respiratory illness, allergic reactions and long-term health effects, particularly in children, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems.

Older Queenslanders on stumps, post-war fibro homes and 1970s–80s brick veneer houses are frequently affected by subfloor mould due to inadequate ventilation — which can affect structural timbers without being visible from inside the home.

Who we help

Homes and businesses across SEQ

Older residential properties

Subfloor and wall-cavity mould in Queenslanders, fibro and brick-veneer homes — often affecting structural timbers unseen from inside.

Flood & storm-affected homes

Rapid response to water ingress after severe weather, before mould has a chance to spread through the building fabric.

Commercial & institutional

Offices, retail, schools, aged-care and hotels — remediated with minimal disruption, outside business hours where needed, with written clearance documentation.

Our process

A six-step remediation

Mould cannot be permanently remediated without addressing the moisture source — which is why our process starts there.

  • Testing & inspection

A thorough inspection identifying all affected areas including hidden mould behind walls, under floors, in roof cavities and HVAC. Samples go to a NATA-accredited lab where species ID or spore counts are needed.

  • Moisture source identification

We identify and advise on the underlying cause — roof leak, rising damp, poor subfloor ventilation, plumbing leak or inadequate waterproofing — and coordinate rectification before remediation.

  • Containment

The affected area is contained to prevent cross-contamination — plastic sheeting barriers, negative-air HEPA machines and restricted access, scaled to the job.

  • Removal & remediation

Porous materials that cannot be adequately cleaned (plasterboard, insulation, soft furnishings, deeply penetrated timber) are removed as contaminated waste. Hard surfaces are treated with biocidal agents and HEPA-vacuumed.

  • Drying & treatment

Areas are dried to below 15% moisture content using commercial dehumidifiers and air movers, then inspected to confirm remediation is complete.

  • Prevention & reinstatement

Practical advice on preventing recurrence — ventilation, vapour barriers, drainage — plus coordination or carrying out of reinstatement.

Common questions

Mould removal questions

Visible growth, musty odours, unexplained respiratory symptoms among occupants, and recent water damage are all indicators. The only way to confirm the extent and species is through a professional inspection and, where necessary, laboratory testing.

Small surface patches on hard, non-porous surfaces (less than about one square metre) can be cleaned with appropriate products. Anything beyond this — particularly on porous materials, in wall cavities, or where occupants have health concerns — should be handled by a professional.

It depends on the cause. Mould from a sudden and accidental water event (e.g. a burst pipe covered under home and contents) may be covered; mould from gradual leakage or maintenance neglect is typically excluded. We can provide documentation to support your claim.

Small areas may be remediated in a single day. Significant whole-home or commercial projects may take several days to a week, with drying monitored over a further few days before reinstatement.
