Grease Trap Cleaning & Servicing

Grease Trap Cleaning for Commercial Kitchens

Professional grease trap cleaning, servicing and maintenance for restaurants, cafes, hotels, clubs and food manufacturing facilities across Brisbane, Gold Coast and SEQ. A well-maintained trap protects your trade waste approval, prevents blockages and avoids fines.

Overview

Protect your trade waste approval

A grease trap captures fats, oils and grease (FOG) before they enter the sewer. Without regular cleaning the trap exceeds its capacity and FOG passes into the sewer system — triggering trade waste infringement notices from your local council or water authority.

Queensland councils and Urban Utilities require grease traps to be serviced at intervals determined by trap size and kitchen output — typically every one to three months for busy commercial operations.

Our process

A thorough, documented service

We do not dilute or flush the trap — we remove all accumulated waste.

  • Site arrival & assessment

Our technician confirms the trap location, accesses the trap, and records pre-service conditions — grease depth, liquid depth, condition of baffles.

  • Pump-out

The trap contents are fully pumped out using a vacuum tanker. All accumulated waste is removed.

  • Inspection

The trap interior is inspected for condition, damage and baffle integrity, and we note any issues requiring rectification.

  • Clean

The interior is cleaned with hot water and a degreaser, and inflow and outflow pipes are checked for blockages.

  • Reinstatement

The trap lid is securely replaced and any disturbed surfaces reinstated.

  • Service record & compliance

We issue a service record noting waste volume and disposal details. Waste is transported and disposed of at a licensed liquid waste facility.

Common questions

Grease trap questions

This depends on trap size and kitchen output, and your trade waste approval may specify a minimum frequency. As a general guide, most commercial kitchens require cleaning every four to twelve weeks. We can advise on appropriate intervals for your operation.

An overflow or bypass can result in a trade waste infringement notice, fines, and potential suspension of your trade waste approval — which would effectively shut your kitchen. If you are experiencing issues, call us on 0488 773 232 for urgent service.

We service all types — under-sink units, outdoor in-ground concrete traps and large proprietary grease interceptors — from small cafe units to large industrial interceptors.

Yes. All liquid waste removed is transported under a licensed liquid waste manifest to an approved receiving facility. We provide disposal documentation with every service.
